Little did I know that when I moved in with my partner to start a new chapter, his son would turn our life into a chaos

I had a lesson of my own to teach him and see what I finally did in this article!

After being inseparable with my partner for years, we eventually decided to move in together in pursuit of a new chapter in our lives. He had a son Dave from his previous relationship who seemed a good guy at first sight, but then I changed my opinion.

Despite the fact I treated him literally as my own son, I couldn’t endure his behavior silently. He left piles of garbage absolutely everywhere which made our cozy and perfectly clean home a miserable and unwelcoming place.

Initially, I hoped that it was a temporary situation since I strongly refused to believe that he was such a disorganized and unkempt personality. However, this has become a kind of a habit. My comments and requirements played no role for him.

Soon, I came to a realization that words were simply not enough and I had a lesson of my own to teach him. His room was my first target. When I stepped into it, I saw a maze of crumpled papers, a collection of half-empty soda cans and other garbage.

So, I packed everything what I saw with other trash in bags. Then came the living-room, kitchen and even the bathroom. I, however, had no idea whether this would make our relationship even tenser or would help us reconcile.

He finally came home from school and saw a sight for which he wasn’t ready at all. All the rooms including his own were sparkling with cleanness. But seeing several fully packed bags raised some questions.

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the sense of awareness, instead of anger, in his eyes. He took everything out of the bags and even put his clothes into the washing machine. Soon, he completely changed his attitude and now home was always clean.

This proved that actions speak louder than words
