Born on January 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge, Tennessee, Dolly grew up with 11 siblings. Her family loved music, and her uncles helped her get started. By age 10, she performed on TV and radio. At 13, she debuted on the national country radio station, Grand Ole Opry.

Dolly has always loved fashion and often surprises fans with her looks. She’s written over 3,000 songs, including hits like “I Will Always Love You” and “Jolene.” She has won eight Grammy Awards and sold over 100 million albums.

In 1964, Dolly met Carl Dean outside a laundromat in Nashville. They married in 1966 and have kept their love private. Despite her success, Dolly never had children, focusing instead on her career. Now 77, she continues to make music and perform, staying true to herself.
