Old Man Goes to Visit Daughter for His 80th Birthday, She Doesn’t Let Him Enter Her House – Story of the Day

Richard drove nervously to his daughter Deidre’s house to celebrate his 80th birthday. She appeared at the door in tears. “Surprise!” Richard exclaimed. “Dad? What are you doing here?” she asked, crying. “I came to celebrate my birthday…it’s the big eight-o!” he replied. “This isn’t a good time. Sorry, Dad,” she said, closing the door. Suspecting trouble, Richard peeked through the window and saw two rough-looking men with Deidre. They were there to collect on a loan she couldn’t repay. One pulled out a gun, threatening her.

Richard followed the men to a bar and confronted them. Mr. Marco, the gang leader, revealed Deidre owed $80,000. Richard offered his $20,000 savings but had to agree to smuggle cars to cover the rest. During the smuggling attempt, Richard was chased by police and the car ended up in a river. He narrowly escaped drowning and then mortgaged his house to repay Deidre’s debt.

Returning to the bar, Richard and Deidre faced Mr. Marco. Police sirens interrupted, and the police apprehended Mr. Marco and his gang. In the ambulance, Richard explained everything to the police. Deidre tearfully apologized for not sharing her struggles. Richard reassured her, “You are not a failure. Everything’s going to be okay.”

“Are you sure it’s still ticking?” 😂 The second Harvey Korman says that line, you already know he’s in trouble.Because the moment Tim Conway’s “Oldest Man” starts making his way into the room, the whole sketch is basically over. He moves so unbelievably slow, so painfully careful, that it somehow becomes funnier with every single step. And poor Harvey… you can see him trying so hard to hold it together, but Tim just keeps pushing it further and further without ever breaking character. What starts as a simple clock repair turns into complete comedy chaos — awkward silence, ridiculous timing, and one of the funniest slow-burn performances ever put on television. This is exactly why Tim Conway and Harvey Korman were absolute magic together.
