Tragic Loss for Danielle Colby

Danielle Colby, star of American Pickers, recently faced a heartbreaking loss just days after her dream wedding to Jeremy Scheuch.

A Fairy Tale Wedding

Last weekend, Danielle, 48, celebrated her wedding in a fairy-tale ceremony in Puerto Rico. However, the joy was marred by the sudden death of her father-in-law shortly after the wedding.

Heartfelt Tribute

On Tuesday, Danielle shared an emotional post on social media, paying tribute to her late father-in-law, “Papa John.” She posted a picture of herself with Jeremy’s father, showing them together on the porch with their dog. The image captured a moment of happiness before the tragic news.

A Touching Farewell

Danielle expressed her sorrow in a heartfelt letter. She wrote, “Papa John, you spent your life creating miracles for vulnerable kids in your community.” She recalled how he transformed an airplane hangar into the North Pole for a terminally ill girl, providing her with hope and joy.

Danielle continued, “You believed in me even when I didn’t. Your support made me feel safe, and you welcomed me with open arms.” She also mentioned, “You traveled from afar to support us, showing your love and kindness.”

Cherished Memories

Danielle reflected on how Papa John helped her understand holidays in a new light. She shared, “You saw these occasions as opportunities for others to benefit from your love and kindness.”

She recalled how, despite the difficulty of opening up, she cherished her time with him. “The wedding was tough without you, and we often cried over little things that reminded us of you,” she wrote.

A Magical Week

Despite the sadness, Danielle noted that the week of the wedding was filled with “unexplainable magic,” thanks to the love and support from those around them. “You were with us in every moment, every sunrise and sunset. Though far away, your presence was felt everywhere. Now, rest peacefully,” she concluded.

Jeremy’s Tribute

Jeremy also paid tribute to his father with a childhood picture of himself and Papa John. The photo, taken in the front yard years ago, showed Jeremy as a young child with his father.

He wrote, “My dad, John Scheuch. June 28, 1953, to February 19, 2024. Rest in peace, dad. You were the best father I could have asked for. I am heartbroken.” In the comments, he added, “I’m at a loss for words right now. I’m grateful for my wonderful wife by my side.”

Support and Appreciation

Danielle supported Jeremy in his grief, writing, “My heart aches for you and your family. Papa John made dreams come true for those in need.” She expressed her gratitude, “Thank you for bringing Papa John into my life and the lives of our children.”

Danielle and Jeremy’s wedding in Puerto Rico marked the start of their new life together, having been engaged for nearly four years. Despite the recent loss, their love and support for each other shine through.
