June Lockhart, now 98, is cherished for her role as Timmy’s mom on “Lassie” and as Dr. Maureen Robinson on “Lost in Space.” Her career, spanning nine decades, also includes appearances on “Bewitched,” “Petticoat Junction,” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” among others.
Lockhart’s accomplishments extend to the stage, where she won a Tony Award in 1948. Additionally, she’s been a dedicated supporter of NASA, receiving the Exceptional Public Achievement Medal in 2013. She’s been involved with NASA since the 1970s, attending launches and promoting the agency.
Lockhart has been married twice and has two children. Family traditions are important to her, including watching her first film, “A Christmas Carol,” with her daughter and granddaughter. “I know, I know—sausages!” her first line in the film, remains a cherished family joke.
Reflecting on her life, Lockhart said in a 2015 interview, “I’ve had many opportunities that just dropped into my lap… But I feel 55. I’m very fortunate to still be active and working.”
