A frightening video circulating online serves as a critical reminder to always ensure children are properly strapped into their car seats. The footage shows two toddlers walking on a Texas highway after being ejected from a car during a crash on Sunday, August 11.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed that the accident occurred on Interstate 10 in Freeport, where a car flipped several times, ejecting an adult and two small children. The video, initially shared on Facebook, shows the toddlers standing alone with only minor scrapes.
Two men quickly rushed to help the children and bring them to safety. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office stated that the investigation is ongoing and that charges might be filed against the driver. “It’s not clear if the kids were in car seats or properly restrained,” the sheriff’s office noted.
The children were taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition, while the other vehicle’s driver was unharmed. It’s a relief that the toddlers are expected to recover, and many are hopeful for their full recovery.
