BREAKING: DOJ Launches Grand Jury Probe Into Letitia James

The U.S. Justice Department has initiated a grand jury investigation into New York Attorney General Letitia James, establishing a counteraction against the prosecutor who, ironically, faces similar allegations to those she pursued against President Donald Trump.

The investigation, which is being carried out from Albany, focuses on potential deprivation of rights claims against the Democrat, who has been in office since 2019.

Two reliable sources informed Fox News that James’s office received subpoenas for documents this week, indicating that the search for evidence regarding how James may have misused her influential position to unjustly prosecute one or more defendants has commenced. One of those defendants may have been Trump, based on the records being requested.

Some of the documents being sought pertain to her 2022 prosecution of President Trump for mortgage fraud. This case culminated in a substantial judgment against the president — nearly half a billion dollars — after James contended that the Trump Organization unlawfully inflated the value of its real estate holdings.

James, who secured her position partly by campaigning on a promise to “get” Trump, promptly began investigating his company’s New York assets. She challenged the Trump Organization’s assertion that any errors in the valuation of its properties constituted a “victimless crime.”

“If average New Yorkers were to enter a bank and present fraudulent documents, the government would impose severe penalties on them, and the same principle should apply to former presidents,” James stated in 2022.

James has sought public attention in numerous other ways. She initiated multiple lawsuits against Trump during his first term and has continued her efforts with renewed intensity since he assumed office in January. Her legal actions have aimed to obstruct his reinstatement of federal student loan payments, impose restrictions on transgender healthcare for minors, and dismantle federally funded social welfare programs, as reported by Fox News.

Nevertheless, her initiatives encountered a setback earlier this year when federal mortgage authorities referred her for criminal prosecution based on documents that suggested she misrepresented her residence to secure more advantageous terms.

Additionally, James has received a grand jury subpoena concerning her purported mortgage fraud, according to Fox. She has refuted the accusation.

Trump took to social media to deride his adversary as a “total crook” following the revelation of her alleged misconduct.

“Letitia James, a completely corrupt politician, ought to resign from her role as New York State Attorney General, IMMEDIATELY,” Trump declared.
