Christina Applegate Hospitalized With Serious Infection

Actress Christina Applegate has been in and out of the hospital more than 30 times since she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) back in 2021. Recently, she opened up about her most recent trip to the hospital.

In fact, the post recent episode of her “MesSy” podcast, which she cohosts with actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler, was recorded in her hospital room. She explained, “By the way, people out there, I’m not doing a podcast from the hospital because I felt like doing one from the hospital was an awesome idea. We just happen to have this scheduled, and they won’t let me leave yet because things are, things are messy. But I’m going to be okay.”

During the podcast, Applegate explained why she went to the hospital. She had returned from a trip to Europe, and she wasn’t feeling well. Then, she experience “a pain that I’ve never felt before on my right side. She described it as so painful that she was “screaming.”

Applegate explained that she went to the hospital and refused to leave until they ran tests to figure out what was going on. She ended up having an emergency CT scan at two in the morning.

She ended up being diagnosed with a kidney infection. She explained, “I’m here because of this kidney infection, and I have to have intravenous antibiotics right now.” She added, “That’s where we’re at. Now they’re thinking it could be something else, and I don’t want to say what they think because I don’t want it to sound scary.”

In a statement to USA Today, Applegate shared that she spent seven days in the hospital and has since returned home.
