President Biden’s wall saga has taken a twist as construction ramps up on a taxpayer-funded barrier around his Delaware vacation home, despite his long-standing opposition to southern border walls.
Exclusive Fox News photos show white fencing, gray stone pillars, and a large black iron gate being installed at Biden’s Rehoboth Beach residence. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) awarded the contract, now valued at $490,324—about $34,000 more than the original 2021 agreement with Turnstone Holdings LLC. Work is expected to finish in September.

The project underscores a contrast with Biden’s 2020 campaign pledge to halt border wall construction. At the time, he vowed, “There will not be another foot of wall construction in my administration,” promising instead to focus on advanced technology and enforcement at ports of entry.
True to his word, Biden halted new southern border wall projects after taking office. However, in July 2022, his administration quietly approved construction in Yuma, Arizona, at Sen. Mark Kelly’s urging. Months later, the White House sued Arizona for using shipping containers as makeshift border barriers, calling it illegal trespassing on federal land.
Earlier this year, Biden toured El Paso, Texas, but avoided Trump-era wall sections, instead highlighting older barriers.
Critics say the Delaware wall highlights contradictions in Biden’s stance, while the White House frames it as standard presidential security.
