Mark and I had been married for only seven months, and I was already four months pregnant with our first child. In the beginning, he seemed like everything I had ever hoped for in a husband. He was affectionate, thoughtful, and made me feel safe. But there was one thing I could never completely ignore: Claire, his ex-wife. Somehow, her name always found its way into our conversations.
