This boy, who grew up in mouse-infested subsidized housing, dreamt of buying his mom a home and eventually became a millionaire star.

Early Life in Ontario

Raised as an average youngster in Stratford, Ontario, Justin Bieber participated in sports like hockey and soccer. Originally from London, Ontario, he developed a keen interest in music at a young age.

Passion for Music

His early fascination with drumming began during church visits, where he watched the drummer, stating, “Ever since I can remember, I’ve always loved music.” He taught himself to play the piano, guitar, and trumpet alongside drum classes.

Support Amid Financial Struggles

Despite financial difficulties, Justin’s mother remained his greatest supporter. She posted videos of him performing soul covers on YouTube and, unable to afford drum kits, gave him drumsticks to practice on the ground.

Rising Talent

At twelve years old, Justin placed second in a local talent competition with a performance of Ne-Yo’s “So Sick.” His mother continued to promote his potential by sharing videos of his performances online.

Financial Turning Point

As Justin’s musical talent flourished, he earned nearly $3,000 from busking and performing pop songs. With this money, he fulfilled a dream by taking his family on their first Disneyland vacation and experienced newfound financial freedom.

Recognition and Mentorship

Reflecting on his humble beginnings, Justin Bieber credits his happy childhood despite financial constraints. His respect for money grew from his earlier lack of resources.

Discovery by Scooter Braun

Scooter Braun, a rising star in the music industry, discovered Justin Bieber through YouTube videos. Initially interested in another YouTube sensation, Braun was captivated by Justin’s vocal talent. He located Justin through a busking video, found his school, and persistently contacted Justin’s mother, Pattie.
