How to Preserve Fresh Strawberries for a Longer Time

The Problem with Strawberries

Strawberries are undeniably delicious, but keeping them fresh is a challenge. They often become mushy and moldy within 24 hours of bringing them home. Given their cost, it’s frustrating to see them spoil so quickly.

The Vinegar Solution

So, what’s the solution? Vinegar! Mix a splash of vinegar with water, then soak the strawberries in this solution for a few minutes. After soaking, remove and pat them dry with a paper towel. This method removes mold spores, which cause strawberries to rot.

Proper Storage

After drying, avoid placing the strawberries back in their original container. Instead, place the dried strawberries on a paper towel and store them in the fridge. This simple hack will significantly extend their freshness.

By using this vinegar and water method, you’ll be amazed at how much longer your strawberries stay fresh. Enjoy your delicious berries without the worry of them spoiling too soon!
