Champion Bodybuilder André Cavalcanti Dies in Motorcycle Crash

Last week, Brazilian bodybuilder André Cavalcanti, 34, died in a motorcycle crash on the BR-369 road between Ibipora and Jataizinho. A 17-year-old, driving without a license, collided head-on with Cavalcanti’s motorcycle. “It is thought that Cavalcanti died at the scene of the crime,” said Chief of Police Vitor Dutra.

the teen’s parents were unaware their son had taken the car. The teens involved were hospitalized with unspecified injuries, and the 17-year-old may face serious charges.

Tributes poured in globally. The International Federation of Bodybuilders for Paraná posted, “It is with great sadness that we inform you that our PRO SUPPORT athlete, Andre Cavalcanti, died this morning in a motorcycle accident. He was so young and had so many plans for his life.” André will be remembered as an honest and devoted athlete.
