Amidst her competition in the Paris Olympics, Biles received comments about her hair being “fried” and “unhealthy.” Responding on Instagram, she humorously yet firmly said, “don’t come for me about my hair [sic].” Explaining the challenges, she mentioned, “IT WAS DONE but bus has NO AC & it’s like 9,0000 degrees.” In another post, she stated, “next time you wanna comment on a black girls hair. JUST DON’T [sic].”
Critics expressed their views online, with one saying, “Simone Biles hair never being done properly be pissing me off.” Another added, “Her hair looks broke off, fried, and unhealthy.”

Despite the comments, Biles led Team USA to a gold medal in the women’s gymnastics team final. She continues to inspire with her performances and her response to criticism, proving that her athletic achievements far outweigh superficial judgments. “It feels amazing. We love it, we’re excited…We got the job done,” she remarked after the victory.
