Mom slammed online for dragging her baby through airport on a leash

She was sitting in an airport when she snapped a video of a mom and her toddler. But a closer look at the picture revealed something that left people online truly shocked.

Being a parent is one of the best things a person can experience. But with the little bundles of joy come great responsibilities and most moms and dads find themselves torn between a bunch of commitments as they do their best to find ways of dealing with the tantrums of their children.

The truth is that those people who still don’t have children on their own are easy to judge others for their parenting although they are completely unaware of what moms and dads out there experience when it comes to their kids.

A video taken back in 2019 which emerged online recently has caused quite a stir on the social media. Namely, it shows a mom at an airport dragging her little son to the floor with a leash tightened on his chest.

As expected, a huge number of people judged her for her action and accused her of being a bad parent, but there were also those who said they could understand her as children can be very difficult at times and this was the only way she knew of in order to get over of whatever situation the little one put her in.

The video was shared on TikTok by user @cacadoodledoo83 (Erica Shupe Hall) with the caption, “Leaving Cancun is tough…I feel ya, buddy.”

The clip gathered millions of views and thousands of comments.

“My OCD would not allow me to drag my child on that dirty floor. I’d rather pick him up, but I guess I’m different,” one person wrote. “Horrible parent. That’s child abuse,” another added. “I just carry mine at that point. I’m not dragging them in that dirty floor,” a third wrote. Another person who judged the mother wrote, “There is a difference, in my opinion, [between] using a harness for the safety of your child and dragging the child with it on the ground. I wouldn’t do that to my dog, and I sure as hell wouldn’t do it to my child.”

Those who stood by the mom’s side and agreed how they feel her pain of dealing with misbehaving children commented as well. “Lmao! Do what you gotta do momma,” a user that goes by the name Sophia wrote. “I’m not saying it’s right… I’m saying I understand! Show me a perfect parent who has never made an error in judgment or hasn’t done whatever they could to survive the day,” someone else added.

The rest of the comments were, “I don’t see any issue with this. Although she could’ve probably carried him, he seems okay to be pulled along. If the kid were [distressed], he would have been making a scene,” and “I had a harness and leash for my five kids. I never lost them. They never got hurt. They were safe and liked the independence of not having to hold my hand. I don’t recall ever having to drag them like this, but I understand how it could happen.”
