How to Remove Grease Spots from Clothing

Battle Grease Stains with These Simple Tricks

We’re officially in burger season, which means grease stains are almost inevitable on your favorite summer outfits. Imagine this: you take a big, excited bite of a juicy burger stacked with all the fixings. Suddenly, grease drips out the other side and lands on your best summer dress. But don’t worry—you can keep enjoying burgers without sacrificing your wardrobe.

Fortunately, there are three easy tricks to get rid of grease stains on clothes. Here’s how you can keep your clothes looking fresh, even in peak burger season.

Method 1: Dish Soap

Dish soap is our favorite method for removing grease stains. Since it’s designed to cut through kitchen grease, it works just as effectively on fabric. Simply squirt a little dish soap onto the stain and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, wash the garment as usual. Once the cycle is complete, check to see if the stain is gone. If it is, you’re safe to dry the item. This method even works on old stains that have been washed and dried multiple times.

Method 2: Baking Soda

If the stain is fresh, baking soda can effectively absorb and lift it. Sprinkle baking soda over the stain and let it sit for five to ten minutes. Then, scrub the baking soda into the stain with a brush. As it absorbs the grease, the baking soda will turn brown. Scrape it away and repeat until the stain is gone and the baking soda stays white. For extra thoroughness, follow up with the dish soap method.

Method 3: Salt

Another reliable method involves using salt . While you’re eating, sprinkle salt on the stain to absorb and lift the grease.

With these simple tricks, you can say goodbye to grease stains and hello to a worry-free burger season!
