11-year-old Luke missed his dad, Andy, who had been his best friend. After Andy’s death, Luke’s mother, Claire, was never happy. One night, Luke told Claire, “The living have to live on, mom.”

This changed everything. Claire introduced her boyfriend, Mike, to Luke. Over time, Luke grew fond of Mike, who treated Claire with love and respect. One day, Claire proposed to Mike, and he accepted. Luke was thrilled but made it clear his late dad would always be his favorite.

On Claire’s wedding day, Luke walked her down the aisle and gave her a box, saying, “Dad wanted you to open this now, mom.” He then read a letter from Andy, urging Claire to find happiness and choose a good man for her and Luke.

Claire opened the box and found Andy’s wedding ring and another letter asking her to put the ring on her future husband’s finger. Luke said, “Mike deserves it, mom. He’ll love you just like dad did.” Mike, moved by Luke’s gesture, promised, “I will never let you down, champ.” And he didn’t.
