RIP LEGEND. The whole country is mourning the passing.

The Golden State Warriors honored Alvin Attles, a team legend, who passed away at 87. Attles spent over 60 years with the Warriors as a player, coach, and executive. In a tribute video, Wilt Chamberlain praised Attles, saying, “Nobody I’ve ever met doesn’t like Al Attles,” highlighting his character.

Attles, known as “The Destroyer” for his tough defense, played from 1960 to 1971 and later coached the team to its first NBA championship in 1975. With 557 wins, he remains the Warriors’ winningest coach. The Warriors remembered him as a man of great character and a significant figure in basketball and the Bay Area community.
