Ángel Salazar, best known for his role as Chi Chi in the 1983 cult classic *Scarface*, has passed away at the age of 68. Salazar, who played Al Pacino’s loyal sidekick in the film, “died in his sleep over the weekend at a friend’s home in Brooklyn,” according to his agent and close friend, Ann Wingsong.

Beyond *Scarface*, Salazar had a notable acting career, appearing in films like *Punchline* with Tom Hanks and reuniting with Pacino in *Carlito’s Way*. His work in these films showcased his versatility as an actor, earning him recognition in Hollywood.

Salazar was also known for his stand-up comedy, where he often performed on HBO specials and *Last Comic Standing*. His comedic talent made him a beloved figure in the comedy circuit, where he entertained audiences with his quick wit and engaging performances.

In recent years, Salazar continued to work in the film industry, with his final roles in *The Black Caesar* and *The Gilbert Diaries: The Movie* in 2022 and 2023.
